AstroLink Reaches a New Desktop Testing Milestone

AstroLink has reached a practical desktop testing milestone: a self-contained internal Windows build now installs, launches and runs the integrated application on our test system.

This is not a public release or a download announcement. It is an internal milestone that lets us test AstroLink as a complete desktop product rather than as separate development pieces.

Why this milestone matters

A mission-analysis platform has to work beyond the environment where it was built. The setup, application, mission files, visual context and engineering results need to stay connected when the product is installed and used like a normal desktop application.

Bringing those parts together gives us a better way to find rough edges that are easy to miss during feature development. It also makes day-to-day testing closer to the experience a future user should have.

What we are testing now

The current testing cycle looks at complete workflows, not isolated screens.

• Create, save, close and reopen mission work.
• Run scenarios and inspect simulation telemetry over mission time.
• Move between mission views, graphs and reports without losing context.
• Review spacecraft power and eclipse information alongside other results.
• Repeat installation, launch and repair checks without putting saved mission work at risk.

We are also paying attention to the small things that shape trust in a desktop tool: clear feedback, predictable navigation, readable results and recovery when something does not go as planned.

What comes next

The next stage is broader validation across more clean machines and configurations, followed by more product feedback and reliability work. Public access is not open yet, and we will not call the product ready before those checks are complete.

For now, this milestone gives us a stronger base for the next round of testing and a more honest way to show how AstroLink is progressing.
